I Will Always Love You

Isn’t it amazing how music can easily make you cry because you remember the past and simply make you smile because you dream about the future? Peter Lee Johnson, you are just so awesome.

Did you know that this WAS my favorite song when I was still a kid? I used to sing this in front of my dear audience – my parents, siblings, grandparents and some unexpected neighbors who happen to pass by. I think I was only around 4 or 5 years old back then. My parents would often tell me that I even woke up one night, sang the chorus then went back to sleep. Ha! That’s just extremely silly.

Looking back, I find myself smiling because I used to really love this song. A 5 year old little girl singing “…and I……. will always love youuuuuu….”, without really knowing what it means. I just loved the melody, that’s all. Haha! Little did I know, 17 years later, I would find myself in a love and hate relationship with the extraordinary effect of these three little words.

On the other hand, isn’t it also amazing how God loves us?

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
