Backpacking 2018: Three Weeks of Island Hopping

Three weeks worth of photos, videos, and stories. How do I even begin?

As some of you may know, I have been doing a week-long backpacking trips for the past 2 years. The last one was 7 months ago where I was able to visit 4 islands in Visayas within 9 days (Camotes, Malapascua, Kalanggaman, and Bantayan), with only 5kgs bag — na hindi ko pa nga pala napopost. Hahaha!

Well, I did it again this year! It’s a bit early I know because I usually travel around late October or early November. Eh kasi I just got married last month so this is actually our honeymoon, and honestly it wasn’t so hard to convince Darel to do a backpacking trip with me. Last year pa sya excited. :p

Okay, so let’s talk about our route:

Early this year I was already planning a backpacking route which will start in southern Luzon up to eastern Visayas. Pero obviously hindi yun ang natuloy, so maybe next year na lang yun? Haha. We started in Balesin (HAHAHA oo) which was really a last minute plan with Darel’s barkada, then there’s Lakawon, Bacolod, Cebu, Siargao, Bucas Grande, Britania, Hinatuan, Camiguin, and Darel’s province in Anakan, Misamis Oriental. We were literally island hopping for 3 weeks. Muntik na ‘to maging 1 month by the way, nahiya lang kami. Hahahaha.

Backpacking 2018 Map

To summarize everything in one sentence, SOBRANG GANDA NG PILIPINAS!! And we’re not even done yet. We still have a lot to explore in this country!

Like the usual, expect to see separate blog entries for each island which will include a lot of stories, photos, videos, secrets, stressful moments, and many random things. For now, watch the highlights of our trip in this video. Btw, if you have any questions and you would like me to include it in my series of blog posts, feel free to let me know. :)
