I know it sounds silly but we kicked off this year’s backpacking trip in a very unexpected place, and yes that’s Balesin. It wasn’t part of the original plan because we really intended to start our trip in Bacolod. But then, when opportunities come and you’re given the chance to stay in a beautiful island like this, how can you say no? So with such short notice (it’s like a 1 week planning & decision), we pushed thru visiting Balesin, carrying backpacks that are meant for a 3 week “island hopping”.
Prior our trip, I didn’t have much idea about this whole “Balesin” thing and how expensive it is to be able to experience the island. I’m just familiar with the celebrities who decided to have their wedding in that paradise and that’s it. So honestly, I had no expectations. And that’s a good thing right?
Okay. First things first. We were with Darel’s college barkada. Second, it was just an overnight stay, mainly because of the conflict in schedule of everybody. Kaya okay na rin kesa wala. ;)
ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN
I love the fact that the whole resort has a lot to offer when it comes to Architecture and Design. With a total of 7 themed Villas (which are basically villages) distributed throughout the whole island, it’s impossible to maximize the amenities of each one in just a day. Pero syempre, dahil overnight nga lang kami, we did a quick tour of all the Villas when we got there. Haha. Kapagod nga lang kasi medyo malalayo tapos ang init pa. Pero it’s all worth it!
The Reception. I love the high ceiling with natural light and ventilation all over!
We stayed at Costa Del Sol, which features a Spanish Colonial Architecture. I won’t deny if you ask me if my History of Architecture subject was reviewed in my mind. Haha. It’s amazing how each Villa uniquely features the architecture, interior, landscape, and even food of the theme!
At Costa Del Sol. Very hacienda feels with all that landscaping.Inside our room. Looks cozy? Not your ordinary daybed. Yep. There’s another bed of the same size outside our room!Details made more beautiful, thanks to the blue sky.Costa Del Sol’s restaurant at night. The freshwater pool. There are 2 swimming pools in this Villa. One is a saltwater, and the other is a freshwater. How cool is that?
I just realized that I didn’t take individual photos of each Villa. What I have are the areas and details which I find interesting. It’s amazing how this place can give you so much to appreciate, and everything is just in one island! So, ready for more photos? Here we go:
The perfect water garden decor.I am so in love with the design of their Spa! Who wouldn’t?What a dreamy place. ♥At St. Tropez Villa which features French Riviera. When you don’t even need food to make a meal table instagrammable.Because pink walls can be such an eye-candy.The swimming pool with a view of the Pacific Ocean.Even the staircases are gorgeous!A feet selfie with this beautiful patterned carpet.Textured stone walls in Toscana VillaGreen doors, blue doors, every color looks perfect in this place. But of course, the famous Mykonos Villa. This Bali vibe.Just looking at this pic makes me want to go swimming asap.
BEACH
You can never go wrong with the beach side of Balesin. With the fine white sand and crystal clear waters, you wouldn’t want to leave this place. Stunning photos coming up!
We had the perfect weather on the day we arrived. Too bad we ended the whole tour late in the afternoon so we weren’t able to enjoy the beach so much. How can this view be so breathtaking?I will never get tired seeing beautiful beaches with blue skies and coconut trees. This is where we saw glowing algae at almost 12mn. Believe it or not, the water suddenly flashed a blue-green light and we all screamed like we won the lottery. Hahaha!Such a pretty place to get a tan, right?I am running out of words to describe this place. Hahaha. Can I just say that the yacht made this view even more perfect?Balesin offers horseback riding. I’m just not sure if it’s by the beach. Hahaha.Dark clouds ready to take over. It started pouring the next morning!Look at how calm the water is.I am not kidding when I said they have fine white sand.
BALESIN: UNIQUE IN THE WORLD
But then, I haven’t visited the whole world yet. Haha. I am thankful for the time spent with friends. There are just many crazy and random memories made when you’re with a bunch of people in a trip.

Btw, you transfer from one villa to another either by a van or a jeepney.Feeling like a Barbie with this pretty background.Infinity pool at Mykonos Villa.I originally packed 4 swimsuits for our 3 week trip. How did I survive? More about it soon.We got the beach all to ourselves.Still in love my blonde hair, but I feel like I need to change its color soon.Isn’t it more fun to take a shower outdoors? The next morning greeted us with such a gloomy weather. But then, a gloomy weather won’t stop me from wearing vibrant colors.I was so white when we started the trip. Hahahaha!Darel’s getting good on this concept photos.Right after breakfast, it’s beach time!Another selfieWe will never get tired of the sand, sky, and the sea.Mandatory portrait shot. And again.Thank you Balesin for an amazing experience even if it’s just for a short stay. ♥My long hair husband. Can you guess what made him decide to cut his hair in the middle of the whole backpacking trip?
There are many things you can do in the island. Imagine, these photos just shows a little bit of the Villas and the beach. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor activities, amazing amenities, and a lot of choices when it comes to food. We just did not have enough time to visit and try everything.
I could say that it’s good to experience this kind of “luxury” atleast once in your life. Libre lang naman mangarap. So sana Maldives naman next. Haha!! Many people asked me if it’s worth it or it’s really nice in Balesin. Well, if the photos didn’t convince you, ewan ko na lang.
