6/30 Things Before Leaving 30: Hurry, Hurry, Drive The Firetruck

This firetruck song was one of our favorite songs to sing and play in the piano. Well, there was Baby Shark in the past but Rafa seemed to love this one more. This video was taken right before we left Manila to travel all the way to Zambales, the day before my wedding. I was able to have a last jamming session with this little boy before I officially moved out of the house.

Few weeks later, he asks me in a videocall, “Love, why are you sleeping in Darel James’ house and not in Beccami’s house?” Haha. Well, he wasn’t the only one who was feeling sepanx. Truth is, it’s not that easy to move on in life when you spend almost everyday with a kid you’ve been with since he was 8 months old.

The first few weeks of my married life, I was crying to Darel because I am missing Rafa so much. Imagine, nobody wakes me up anymore every morning asking me to play with him, or to paint together, to buy bread in the bakery, or even just to blow bubbles outside. Nobody distracts me anymore everytime I have work to do. Nobody asks for 6 scoops of milk anymore. Haha. I no longer have someone who follows me around in the house, and it’s fine because it doesn’t annoy me. I no longer have a playmate. I no longer have tita duties to do.

One night, I was crying again and I was just browsing the old videos of me and Rafa until I felt tired and fell asleep. Good thing God blessed me with a very loving husband, because the next morning, he asked me to get dressed because we’re going to visit Beccami’s house so I can see my favorite nephew.

I’ve had a lot of fun and wonderful moments with this little guy, but I think this one is what I like the most at the moment. Happy 5th birthday, Rafa!
